It seems like at the last moment, the event moved 50/60 miles north and east. This really could/was looking like it could be us this morning, looking at pictures from city centre Manchester etc - really goes to show that if it had been over the top of us, it would have been snow virtually everywhere. Annoying as it's the last wintry hurrah this 'winter' too. Probably looking at waiting until at least November (and god knows how  long after) to watch out for another snow event now.

Well well well well. My Uncle has taken me on a surprise trip somewhere for my birthday. We are currently on a train somewhere outside Birmingham and I can confirm it's snowing!! Didn't expect to see snow today. I still don't even know where he's taking me

I suspect Leicester but not sure.

it could be worse  imagine living up north and only getting rain  as some only have.   I think there is still a chance of the wintry stuff later on.

You forgot to put "DRIZZLE" over Shropshire :D

Snow in Manchester at same height, snow in West Mids at same height, and it's still raining. Nothing seems to provide an explanation of why this keeps happening, seriously wonder if we will ever see even Feb 2007-style snow again, let alone Feb 1991 or Dec 2010. It just always seems to rain round here nowadays, however much snow elsewhere or however good the synoptics.

Snowed for maybe an hour or so around midnight which left a slight covering. Temperature rose slightly which melted most of it away. Has snowed on and off this morning but slightly too warm for it to settle. However, some heavier precipitation is arriving now, hopefully that may bring the temperature down a bit.
