That thunderstorm was awesome here last July.

(Sorry, still hanging onto the last exciting weather thing that happened here)

Snow up north again?

Fair play..hope you're enjoying it.

(It really was a damn good storm!)

Lucky you.  Still sleety rain here at present unfortunately. Could still change for the better though.

Snowing in Coventry? And settling?

Now just hang on a minute...that's not north of here!

I'm on the wrong side of Brum again!

2c and sleety drizzle here, annoying as if only it could come down heavier it would probably be all snow.

Look at the latest radar and just look at the hole where Shropshire is....

How is it supposed to snow with no precipitation, but then when it does get here it magically all turns to rain. Beyond a joke now.

Looks like you've got company with your luck in Shrewsbury.

Shove up, make room..the Black Country is going to join you!

How unexpected is this?  We're right under the middle of the low, and the precip' seems like it won't hang around for long, but more may come later tonight?   I'm hitting the wine!!!   :drunk-emoji:     :yahoo:

Just heavy sleet here at the moment. Not even pure snow and with areas of the midlands south of here getting proper snow now that's starting to settle I'm starting to worry.

So Shropshires colonised the Black Country, watch out Peak District you are next, the snow-murdering army is coming up the A53 :diablo:

Have faith, i thought we'd only see rain. I had no idea this could happen, and as the night cools down, it's sure to turn to snow where you are too

Hope your right. And as long as the precipitation sticks around for a good while yet I suppose I should remain hopeful. Mind you we've had near constant sleet since half 2ish and at times almost pure snow, but it's more rain than snow as I type this.

We deserve this, it's been such a terrible winter for snow, for 3 years now!  What do you think to the main band? will it be snow? Must be dragging colder air down from the north?

Pleased some areas not too far away are getting at least something.

Just had a look at the radar and a read through some of the other regional threads. It's not just here that's had bad luck so far. Look at Nottingham and particularly Sheffield. Sheffield has been so so close to the snow for a while. Even lower parts of Leeds and Bradford have had to suffer a sleety rainy mix.

It's a strange one this, there seems to be higher areas up north getting sleet, lower areas in the Midlands getting snow...then this big sausage shaped dry slot ruining the fun from Sheffield all the way down to Hereford.

All to do with how the system is pivoting I suppose.

Just luck of the draw I suppose.

Sheffield, Nottingham, Stafford, Dudley, Worcester..

...we are all Shrewsbury today!

Well there are -5c uppers around but maybe the heavier precipitation has brought the cold air lower down around here-evaporative cooling.
