I think the depth is by far greater than 6", I have 8.5 here and I know others with just short of 12"

This is so frustrating - now I can actually SEE the snow falling in the far distance from our elevated spot! However the clouds from the SW are getting closer and closer so fingers crossed. Currently 3.8oC.

Unfortunately, the snow is stopping as the back edge is almost upon us from the South East. I hope it slides back later.

That clearance was pretty amazing.... Snowscape just opened up of the hills around all white and pristine......

Looks like that front is going loop around and miss most of this area. Also, it does appear to be in decaying mode now at the moment, unless it can find some energy from somewhere.

So the BBC got it wrong again. Rain at low levels below 200m blah blah blah. No forecasting is not an exact science but oh so wrong. We had rain, dry and more rain forecasted.  We have light snow all morning. Yet to settle but a good 2*C colder.

With all the super computers.  Useless. A question. How did the bbc and met got it wrong? it's only the usial places getting snow even here in the midlands. In these parts we had nothing but rain last night and today so I don't think the bbc or the mets got it wrong to be fair.

Bar the odd flake in the wind, been bone dry in Nottingham, I thought this front was suppose to Pivot & then sink Southeast. Another what could have been for Nottingham, precipitation appears to be completely missing us at the moment

Have had sleet here on and off since about half 2ish and still coming down. Sometimes more rain, sometimes more snow (with plenty of proper hexagonal flakes within it). Either way it's just serving to make the ground wet rather than white and judging by this thread only the Peak District is getting that privilege yet again.

Well no snow here, can see the hills from the top of my street and they have certainly had a good coating.

Rain finished, dull and murky, main band is about 20 miles west but looking at the Wales thread it's all rain and sleet anyway... Peak District has different rules again, even compared to other high ground.

What is wrong with this area???
