It's just sleet and wet everywhere. So so disappointed, it looked so promising earlier. Looking at the radar we won't be getting much else.

Story of the evening here , notice the big gap over Derby and upwind from it :D. At least I can see the amusement in it.

light snow now, seems like cold air edging west, 0.7C, still don't expect covering on very wet ground

Ooh something is settling! Surprised considering the ground was so wet. Doesn't look like much ppn on the radar though?

Still just a heavy drizzle here...nothing wintry about it at all.

Would need to freeze hard and fast if any of us want snow to settle tonight.

Well, good news is that it's turned to that very sleety wet snow, which is trying to stick on the bins and such. I think, given a bit more time and heavier precipitation (really annoys me having to type that word <---  I could just write 'snow' instead!), i think it'll be full snow before long :)

Snow can settle on very wet ground all day long if it's heavy enough

I'm at the University not the village. As for Ian Brown, don't think he's been on the forum for a few years now..

Meanwhile, light snow continuing, 0C.

Medium sized flakes now at the rate of about 40% , we're getting there!

I just listened to Kate Bush "December will be magic again" it's a spell you know, for when times are desperate :yahoo:
