Starting to think this might be a bit of a bust tonight..... had almost 3 hours of the lightest snow i think ive ever seen..... think i might just go and sup on my JD to numb the pain a little....if i wake to a covering in the morning then so be it... if i dont then who cares.....

there is a large area of precipitation heading down from 'up north' you never know, we may get it all after midnight

Met office gives me flakes...takes them away...puts them back! Getting fed up of this 'will it won't it'  and now just going with 'if it does it does and if it don't it don't !

(I know 'don't' isn't grammatically correct but it just sounds better that way)

Looks like a cold but sleety/showery rain filled night for the Black Country.  Currently 1.9C in Dudley.

Looks like we can get that precipitation that's up north...

...but sadly, it's too late for us. As said already, it'll just be yet another soggy night to add to the list.

Such a shame, and the ground is going to be a complete state again just after it had hardened up and frozen over. I've enjoyed not having mud trudged through my house today.

Light snow falling in West Nottingham, settling on cars, grass etc and some of the paths.  Met office not forecasting any snows until later on for here.

At a friends tonight in Beds, very very very small flakes, the phone app says heavy snow at my place near the A45 I'm probably in the wrong blooming place for the only snow event of our region for the year!

Completely stopped here now, you'd struggle to know it had snowed at all here.Even the snow on the cars has melted now.We had more than this in the last week of November just gone.

I admire your optimism and really hope you're right. But look how far east those higher temps and dew points have gone. This one is for the East Midlands, London and the SE I'm afraid.

Wow I've got a rainfest cold spell my weeble. Roll on the summer. Unfortunately our winters now seem to be a lot milder and snowless compared to the 90's and earlier. And I think this is how it's going to stay. Oh to be a kid again running in to put my gloves on the radiator for a quick warm before running back outside to finish the snowman
