Can only see rain if it comes here DP are on the rise so it will be very marginal. Gone very cloudy so something is coming. Sunday still has potential for a long period of snow.

To be honest, a quick heavy covering of snow followed by the reset button to take the risk of a better reset is fine by me.

This pattern, whilst cold and frosty is a waste of winter when it comes to proper, accumulating, snow. I've had 2 sugar dustings this 'winter' so far..and both of them combined wouldn't even be half a CM. That's not good enough, nowhere near it. At least Monday/Tuesday show some proper snow before it washes away.

Hopefully the CFS and so on are pointing in the right direction for next month, as Ian has mentioned with regards to MOGREPS and GLOSEA.

at least you have had snow this winter, we haven't even had falling snow let alone laying snow.

Today's weather: rather cold (though not very: max 5.1 °C), mostly cloudy until mid-afternoon with persistent light rain over lunchtime. Unsurprisingly, I'm not bothering even to look out of the window!

Still, having had a good moan in the moans (etc) thread, I feel a good deal calmer now. Hoping for a decent frost tonight and then a cold, crisp sunny weekend. If there's the odd flurry, that's a bonus, but some frost and sunshine will do me fine. :)

Raining in Birmingham. Seems to be just on the borders between rain and sleet... oh well. Better chance will be for Sat night/ Sun morning and for Monday.

Rain turning to sleet in Central Birmingham now. Few flakes mixing in with the rain, hopefully it turns into snow....

If the highly respected hi res arpege and arome models get their way, light snow could begin tomorrow evening, not clearing till Sunday afternoon approx. Hope it's right. :)

Blobby rain here and the temperature is dropping - was 3.7C before the onset of the shower - now down to 2.6C

Dew point at -1.1C so hopeful of a few flaked before it clears.

MIA
