80 or so ASL here, a power station, living in a ditch compared to surrounding areas.

It's going to be a sleety/rainy or very dry night. Off to bed shortly I think.

gone a bit west, google earth Ian

What's the chances for the Midlands - Leics ? I didn't even think snow was on the cards tonight ? But I think I am too central to see the fun....

Height definitely playing a part here, 160-180 meters above sea level in this part of Telford, on route to work this morning was snowing at top of the road and then pure rain 5 mins later by town centre (around 100 meters lower).

95-100m here (according to the OS maps) so higher than town and not much below Telford. But round here it seems 100m= 20m elsewhere, 200= 100. Anyway it's clear now, but still above freezing.

How do I find out?

Streetmap.co.uk or any OS map. Looking at it, Ironbridge riverside is about 45m, but go up the hill to Madeley/Woodside and it's 100-120. You're probably somewhere in between...

So that's pretty bad for snow chances?

No snow in Cannock .

From the radar, looks like you might see some falling quite soon.

Looks like Birmingham's on course for a short period of moderate-heavy snowfall... might just miss the worst of it several miles north.  Should get a covering out of this if all goes well.

Judging by the radar that pptn by Birmingham is definitely heading East. Hopefully we will manage something.
