Really sorry to hear that LeeKay, horrible thing to have to go through.

Bish, my Nan has Dementia, had to care for her for 9 months back in 2011, hardest 9 months of my life! So I know how heartbreaking it is to see a family member go through that.

Anyway, back on topic before the mods whip my backside :D I'm really not too optimistic about tonight now, local Weather reckons rain and sleet at low levels and snow over high ground. Looks far too borderline to even deliver settling snow here IMO. Hope i'm wrong though!

Nw flow will continue, into a north tomorrow if you have nw ex you will see the PPN swinging. Currently its NNW  if a the Cheshire gap holds up for a time then snow will see the midlands through the next 8 hours or so. please correct me if im wrong. Then Bright sunshine through Saturday, cold winds there after

Bish..

Just beat me to it ...

Can confirm that it is turning more to snow in Solihull now

Just seen my first actual flake of the season falling. Isn't it earlier than forecast and hopefully will bring us better news when the wet/cold arrives later.

My temperature down to 3.4C and falling steadily.  RH 77% and Dew Point at -0.2C so all looks good

Now for a heavy shower to give us a settling..

MIA

Just noticed that we have 50 users online - Great guys - keep it up.

Maybe I was over exaggerating a bit :D The mods aren't that harsh on here. They do try to keep things on topic I guess. No harm in going off-topic a bit though ;)

They tend to be more lenient in the regional threads. Great to see Solihull getting it's first snow of the Winter! Bodes well for later on I think, I think places around Birmingham that have elevation above 100m will see some settling snow out of this. For the likes of me down in Oxford at 90m ASL though, definitely squeaky bum time  â€‹

In the last 15 minutes  the sky has cleared and the temperature is still falling..

Now down to 2.9C, with a dewpoint of -1.6C. This is getting better for later on tonight

Did we? All I've noticed so far is rain... (Obviously looking out the wrong window!)

Who on here is on Facebook I wonder? Maybe I should start a NW Midlands region FB page? They we needn't worry about going off topic if we want to? It does feel like a lovely group of friends here!
