Erm....

Estofax picked up on some potent showers forming these will aid increased convective wind gusts..

Just at the wrong time too! Them forming squalls although fast moving could become very elongated for certain areas with the wind direction! if theres any big gusts mixed in, during or after the heavy downpours the trees won't be happy!  :shok:

Does anyone know when peek winds will be for each sector/area?  I'm in Devon?  I'm sure peek winds here will be about 4pm - 5pm?

Looking at NMM, I'd say between 5 and 7. I find it difficult to judge.

Damn. I knew I should have brought my anemometer with me to work. I was going to walk down the sea front on the way home and see what speeds we can get up to. Starting to get rather gusty here. X

Met Office goes for the highest gusts at 8-9pm at 46 and 47mph, but as ever nothing that unusual here. For 3pm the forecast had 41mph for comparison.

I'll be down the seafront later on too, should be interesting. :)

Hurricanes, tornadoes, even Wind storms like Barney here I absolutely love. Yes these weather events can be dangerous and cause loss of lives but I just can't help but get sooo excited this time of year.

Severe wind along with thunder storms come top on my list.

A good snow event comes a close second so I'm also keeping an eye on the weekend :).... love the weather right now

Actually, edit. I think thats a falcon lol

Looking again doesn't look like there's too much distruption, a flight has just taken off from Exeter Airport

Should be OK there as winds aren't forecast to be too bad, 40-50mph atm and perhaps 50-60mph later on.

I can imagine a few people here are refreshing the XCWeather Map, to see if the 76mph max changes... :D

Can't do it myself, as off out for a while. :)

Oh well, it's going to get windier later, doesn't take very strong cross winds to affect air travel!
