Bloody windy outside now!

In other news, my phone has a snow icon for Saturday, first of the winter

As strong as it's been here on the coast so far - likely force 8. A few places have approached 60mph in gusts, eg - Andrewsfield and Cranwell, so far. The closest place I can see that's exceeded 60 is East Midlands Airport. A few places will likely exceed 60mph around here, but I don't expect much strengthening from this point.

Could be time for a drive...

I can report there is twig in the middle of my road and the neighbours recycling box lid is missing.

In all seriousness, yes it's very windy but nothing I haven't seen many times before.

And so it begins on our region's trains. Tree across the Liverpool Street to Cambridge line at Sawbridgeworth.

UPDATE: A train has actually hit a tree. Lets hope no-one is hurt.

Getting pretty windy here in Dover. I just heard a crash in the back garden, two metal patio chairs stacked together went for a ride along the patio and crashed against a gate!

Doesn't seem massively windy here? :cc_confused:

I think the Met Office have called it right; a yellow warning. Nothing more needed IMO. As Ben has said, very windy, but it's seasonal and nothing unusual. :)

Really gusting now, just had to cut the top off a small tree in garden as it was about to blow over.

Actually, I was wrong - it is pretty windy here, but it isn't blowing onto the windows at this end of the house, so it isn't quite as loud as I expected.

57mph gust at Heathrow. Pretty wild out there but nothing unusual for the time of year.
