Still hammering it down here and a gusty wind.

A miserable morning but thankfully not the serious conditions that are affecting others.

Think we might have dodged a bullet in relation to some of the very worst cases that we being forecasted. More rain to come next week though.

True, we're not completely out of the woods yet but it looks like the heaviest of the rain in this part of the region is now over.

Obviously other areas have not been not so lucky.

A completely dry night and morning. Very mild, with the temperature hovering around 14°C. A nice day really. About what I expected.

It was raining much less than I expected last night. It is stopped now in fact I saw some blue skies earlier.

Amber warning has been updated with further rain, easing for time but then is expected to develop again later this afternoon and into the first part of the night.

Obviously and quite rightly so the rain and flooding are the

Concern at the moment.looking towards the weekend it looks

Like the first cold spell will be with us,looks a brief affair, lasting

48-72 hrs,but looks quite a potent Northerly, far two early to

Talk about the S word, but looking at the GFS 06z the 2m max

Temperature on sunday For the NW is 2c,thats the future for

Now more rain for the working week, adding to the flooding

Problems.

Light rain here ,feeling a bit happier that my youngest son and girlfriend have arived safely in Bangkok after what's been going on ..

I know Moki, it's scary isn't it. I'm happy they arrived safely. I'm flying back to the UK tomorrow...I know I'm in the safest place in the world after security, but even I'm a bit anxious...

More warnings being issued for next week with the latest one for Wednesday, more heavy rainfall with the mention of potentially disruptive winds and the warning will updated in the coming days... So plenty more weather to come this week with rainfall amounts really mounting up so the flooding is likely to get worse with no real respite.

The A66 is closed between Keswick and Penrith, quite a long diversion in place.
