Continuous feed of heavy rain from Northern Ireland across into Cumbria, large area of almost stationary heavy rain over North Wales.

But in between the radar is showing a clearance coming across from the Irish Sea into Lancashire with the next area of rain way back in the Republic.

Maybe Eno has called this correctly after all and the Met Office rain totals for this part of the region are greatly exaggerated.

Has it already stalled? There has been no real progression now for an hour of either the stuff over Ireland or the stuff over us.

Heaviest in England for past 2 hours has been Western Cumbria, next is western side of the Pennines. Its really matching up to the models at the moment.

You may be right, the clearance out towards the coast hadn't made any headway and it's still raining quite heavily here.

We don't get a lot of oragraphic rainfall here, probably due to the modest heights of the Pennines at this latitude but maybe tonight it is going to play a big part.

I've been going through the environment agency and looking at the latest rivers levels. It looks like the river Eden at its rivers and streams Carlisle may just get away with it.

Rain has turned light

However I could be wrong bur looking towards West Cumbria the river levels are really starting rise. Stay safe

Still very little rain here this evening. Probably be dry tomorrow going by past events in the way this is going.

Moderate rain set in around 3.30pm becoming heavy by 5pm and the intensity has remained, lots of water on the roads etc.. A marked change in temperature as well, it was 6 degrees this morning, once the warm front arrived temps jumped to 10 degrees and now sitting around 13 degree mark - it feels much more tropical..

Still peeeeeeing down.

Off to bed no doubt to be kept awake by the sound of heavy rain and a swollen river.

That sounds like a lovely thing to listen to - provided the water stays in the river!

Checked on it overnight here and we have been ok no damage to our fields or buildings, saw though that some of the cottages near us haven't been so lucky and a few have flooded, one has had its flood pump on all night. Got flood warnings all around us now, with the Aire flooding and the Calder flooding.

Looks like it was mainly light rain overnight although it has been raining heavily for the last hour or so.

The stream beyond the back garden, a tributary of the Irwell is swollen although not yet at the heights we sometimes see and as the forecast is for the rain to ease as the day goes on, I can't see it rising much further.
