For more than 60 years, scientists have dreamed of a clean, inexhaustible energy source in the form of nuclear fusion.

And they're still dreaming.

But thanks to the efforts of the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, experts hope that might soon change.

be interesting to see if they can sustain the plasma long enough for energy net gain ..

far as I'm aware it still consumes more to keep the plasma field intact than it generates ,takes up to 2% of Uk electricity output to fire it up ..:0.. US national ignition facility might be on to somthing though ... Edited by Mokidugway
