Oh dear, things are looking very worrying for the SE. Nothing electrical has started in northern France yet!

storms were meant to come into SE England / East Anglia behind the rain band and so far that hasn't got very far north bright and sunny here at the moment

In what way, that there'll be no storms or that you think they'll explode right over my head?

I can see it!

Yes, there it is a nice big shower going towards the SE. Ok, may be it is part of the rain band. I think the only signs I can see are the showers now developing over Brittany and Normandy. These will move into central and southern England later on I presume!

That band of rain to my SE is now gradually getting heavier and heavier. It could be quite a wet afternoon for some.

Rain intensifying. But it's central France getting all the fun at the moment. Possible supercell heading for Dijon in the next hour. Strike rate is beginning to go into silly mode on that thing.

Nope. it'll bypass Dijon - just watch! The storms always go crazy over the Morvan and then zip north, I've stayed up half the night over there only to get nothing but distant flashes...

I've honestly never seen a strike rate like this - it's incredible to watch (even just on Blitzortung.org)!!

The rain band that had been predictied today from models and other forecasts wasn't supposed to be that big, was always gonna be quite heavy and a thinish kind of band running ahead of the thundery activity, but the main interest is whats likely to develop behind the this rain, any showers that develop could well be heavy and thudnery, so I dont think people should worry yet, all high res charts show the main risk between the hours of 3-8pm
