Hail shower about an hour ago, but its been raining moderately with intense bursts since around 11. Seems to be under a line of developing intense showers.

The morning rain cleared around 11am in Ipswich followed by intense blue sky.

The temp shot up and humidity with it. Large showers now breaking out along the a14 coridoor with cloud tops shooting up.

it appears the next rain I'm going to get is that band of rain just south of gloucester unless showers form ahead of it

Cloudy with rain...temp 9.2c Any likelihood of sunshine to help get things cooking looks pretty remote at the minute, as the showers look like they have merged into a more persistent spell of rain with varying intensities.

Just a very pleasant, dry day with good sunny spells here! Not much on the radar near here at all.

Think we'll be seeing that band of rain to our south within the next 90 minutes of so but apart from that there isn't much I agree and that band doesn't look heavy all the way through either

I think nothing is going to happen as the whole afternoon so far has just been that band of drizzle stopping showers developing down here.

Edit: Now the suns come out :)

Nice robust looking Cu around here now. Convergence inland becoming more defined.  The second trough to the south of here proving to be a nuisance, though, where rain cooled air and cloud cover inhibits heating and instability build-up. In its vicinity, however, cold pooling at the surface can help with new cell formation, so a positive there.  Good few hours to go yet, though.

Very dark with lightning to the south of Leeds.  Looks like the centre will miss the action but quite dramatic towards Wakefield / Pontefract way.

looks like some parts there are in for a soaking , thankfully I'm looking at less of a soaking which is just as well as the grass is almost 2ft high

Something convective going on here. Some quite ark cloud bases around here but just had a sudden period of gusty winds with objects/branches etc swirling round a bit! Was looking out for a funnel/tornado but have not seen anything. Raining now though.

Lot less activate today than I thought would happen almost a reverse of last night

I think the problem today was some areas managed some lengthy spells of sun whiles others in the risk area didn't although the sun now maybe coming out peak heating is now over..

EDIT: Although looking at radar a clear convergence zone is appearing:

Don't think today is a day to worry about, thunder wise.
