Cold, overcast and wet most of the day, with the rain particularly heavy and persistent in the morning.  We were lucky to be right in the 'eye of the storm' at lunchtime, giving us a half hour dry and calm spell.  Maximum 16.2, minimum 13.1.  Wind light N.

Better day than expected - mostly cloudy but some afternoon sunshine pushed temps above 20C and it's been dry.

Similar all week I suspect.

A maximum of 16.1C at a local station today, very low for August. My own station recorded a maximum of 16.9C and a minimum of 13.0C, so a range of just 3.9C. Very unusual in my (perhaps relatively short) experience for two days like this in August (we had a similar day last week).
