The real scale map of Britain should please the Scots. for one thing.
Looking forward to the first proper look at it all at lunchtime then.

Cheers.

Might just be the way the image has been uploaded but the scaling doesn't seem quite right on that map.

Can't say I'm too keen on the graphics if truth to be told, trying to tell the difference between sunshine and cloud is far less clear cut for one. I be interested too see what the graphics show for normal convective cloud.

As Nick also says, the scale of the map looks a bit wrong with he spine of the country looking quite skinny compared to the old graphics.

The pressure chart maps look fine too me though, quite clear cut really.

I'll wait until I see it on TV to judge it properly, it may have gone a bit weird with it being uploaded to Twitter.

Got to say, I prefer the older graphics from before. Much clearer detail on the Precipitation than the new one.

One major issue I think they need to address is the place names. The added blue border completely covers certain areas in the national view. Take a look at Plymouth for example, you clearly can't see the IOW!

Difficult to tell the difference between cloud and clear skies over land, or is it just me?

I was wondering this too, it's certainly much harder to tell than before.

Not you Nick it isn't so clear at the zoomed out level regional forecasts are slightly easier as they are obviously zoomed in more

I would hope they'll listen to feedback now the new map has gone live and they'll make some tweaks to it

It also needs to be zoomed in, we don't need to see Sweden! Like you say Gavin, hopefully they'll take feedback on board.

The map colours no longer change for the cold so like on the Met and was BBC the map would go blue depending on the cold.. nolonger anymore. Disapprove of this new change hopefully things get ironed out.

Just watching it on BBC News, I stand by all comments I made. Needs some tweaks.

Scotland looks like it's been inflated.

Maybe they're over-compenating given the criticism the Met Office were subjected to when they last changed their system?

To be fair, the initial map with the previous new system was bad. But the revised version was far more accurate. This new system just looks daft, it makes Scotland look as wide as southern Britain when it's nowhere near...

I'm doubting myself now. Am I going mad? Possibly :D

Yes, and it was hard enough before. So they can be always "accurate", a bit cloudy, a bit of sun, all works....

Is there anywhere on the BBC site where we can leave feedback about the new weather graphics? Agree with others here that making out if it’s sunny or cloudy is very difficult unless it’s zoomed in.
