Can see lightning and hear distant thunder out to sea

I can see lightning flashing way off to my S and SW now - woohoo!!! Thought I could hear a very distant rumble a short while ago - just got to hope it keeps its energy

Oooohh that was a much brighter flash and lovely deep peel of thunder

Flashes becoming more frequent now too

I on the other hand cannot see any lightning because ITS ALL GOING TO THE EAST OF ME

Lightning looks to be dieing to the west of it..doesn't look as so good for Sussex but good for kent

Good lightning display got a couple of pics but hard with cabin lights

 

When we went through the system no close lightning but as we went through cloud which I guess was a developing storm we had St Elmos fire shooting up from a point on wing.  I'm  guessing probably on cockpit too as at that moment  pilot asked for seat belts to be put on

 

Was rough but only for about a minute or two so we were quite lucky turbulence wise

Some brighter flashes here now, though I fear I may be a little too far inland to get anything too exciting. 

Are more storms predicted to form behind this clump of storms?

this low in north sea whats risks for storm surge on the east coast.  I am seeing forecast of 3-4 m height waves although highest winds being forecast to be force 8.

The West of the band does not appear to be as electrically active as the East. Is this "real" or a figment of the radar coverage? I seem to remember this be

fore, with the lightning cover to the west not being the same area as the radar coverage.

Watched the storms coming in from the channel was lovely low rumbles. Getting closer now and sky is lighting up fairly frequently with some very deep long rumbles.
