not long before i get hit by severe Thunderstorms.

What's the difference between a thunderstorm and a severe thunderstorm? These just look like normal thunderstorms.

Epic storm that, torrential rain and some hail not far off 1cm. Constant thunder which seemed overhead but saw no lightning, mainly because it stayed very bright as I was on the western side of the storm. Can still hear thunder but not sure if it's from the cell near Sheffield or the one i just had.

Thought you might have done better in Garforth. It's even muggier now - DP up to 19C with RH of 81%. Sun's back out.

Yep, sferics now crossing the channel into South East Wales.

Looks like the interest is heading across the bridge, with a bit of ordinary rain heading our way.

Oh well. :(

They usually reinvigorate after they have passed us to be honest...but plenty of action developing to our South...just needs to spark up!

strikes/min 60+ for Northern England only (Derby/Nottingham upwards)

looks like main cells are one just leaving Leeds, one about to hit Chesterfield (due south of) and one over Gainsborough

another cell over heading over Buxton

it's certainly kicking off :)

Matlock about to get battered looking at the lightning map! May go for a drive towards the west!

Extremely dark here nothing to note, but with the precipitation continuing to develop to the south, ears open.

Exciting watching the explosive developments elsewhere :D

Looking good thus far!!

Thunder continues all round me with heavy spots of rain after a short harp burst. Lots of energy up there!
