I just watched the whole lot and what a treat that was, thank you,the approaching storm was amazing and that wind!

i remember chatting to you that evening and i thought that the storm missed you but you got a fair share of it,that storm had some legs and i think it started south of the alps through Venice down the coast of Croatia passing Zadar then onto Hvar them some

again thanks for all the hard work into that video clip, well done, now the uk's  turn next week hopefully:spiteful:

Yes we were chatting on that night 🙂. When I watched it back I did realise I got quite a decent hit, but I was aware that Venice got it much worse and the strongest part just missed, so at the time I guess I expected Armageddon haha.

The next storm I will be posting hit the following night (8-9th) and produced some decent bolts. Again the strongest part stayed out to sea, but i believe it is the same storm that then hit Halkidiki in Greece two days later.

Next week looks quite special for us UK folk. Let's just hope that this time it comes off.

So the one to the North has had all its mojo taken by the one to the East of Rome

Following on my Croatia storm video yesterday, below is the second installment. This storm arrived late in the evening on the 8th July after moving in very slowly from Venice (once again). Much like the storm on the 7th July it appeared the strongest part of the storm (possibly MCS) missed a couple of miles to my west (over the sea) but part of the storm does move directly overhead. Apologies for the length, the storm lasted a long time due to how slow it was moving.

The cell to the East, now NE of Rome tried it's best but has faded away, similarly with the storms in Greece and Croatia.

I'm not sure if its lack of moisture or something else stopping it as there is no lack of heat....and getting hotter and hotter as the next few days pass.

The final piece of storm footage from my trip to Croatia. The storm is a brief affair during the afternoon of the 9th. It seems to die away as it pushes through but for 10 minutes it has some good bolts (before it comes over). If anyone wants to see my storm videos as I post them, then please subscribe to my channel to see it first (assuming there are any more storms this year).

Some beefy thunderstorms here in Prague today with very intense rainfall, quite scary on the roads for a while. Lovely cloudscapes, too.

I like that screen grab. For about 2-3 minutes after the lightning I could not see very well as the flash temporarily blurred my vision somewhat. I estimate the bolt was only a couple of hundred metres away.

We may get some decent storms in the UK over the next few days, although in Croatia I think these storms are standard fare.
