I'm keeping an eye on the Berlin Live Cam today, as ESTOFEX have issued a level 3 slap bang on top of Berlin! (For Damaging convective wind gusts, heavy precipitation, Large or very large hail, and a moderate chance of a >F2 tornado! There will also be very frequent CG lightning with this activity.)

Indeed, NE Germany looks to get hammered this afternoon. I just wished I had the money and time to jump on a plane and go there last minute.

Switzerland has gone into mass overdrive in the past 10 minutes. Mental stuff. And so it begins!

Are you watching a specific area? I'm keeping an eye on Berlin and it's livecams.

Very interesting and possibly dangerous conditions for C Europe to come, satellite pics show the boundary area between the cooler Atlantic air and the hot and humid air to the S and E very well. Some big storms moving up out of N Africa too grazing SE Spain, surely that's quite unusual at this time of year?

That storm over Switzerland is an absolute beast!  Interesting analysis from Estofex:

May well be relating to the MCS that will ensue overnight and into tomorrow. That stuff over Switzerland may just be the start. So much energy over that part of the world, being fed by a possible record breaking hot spell over the med. Rome is set to exceed 42-43c, and Majorca has had 40c today.

What do you reckon? is it worth staying up tonight to keep an eye on the Berlin Cam?

Yes. Given what is forecast. Although I'll try to find cams as near to where any storms actually initiate. It's all about the now cast.

Munich is where my eyes are turning to soon! That Swiss monster is now kicking out nearly 500 strikes per minute!!!!
