Well that one developed overhead and now passed but i turn back to the Trieste cam as there is plenty of lightning on the tops of the clouds across the Adriatic sea south of Venice.

Really impressive light show here with some pretty close strikes. Just saw multiple anvil crawlers in one go.

Mediterranean is currently kicking off big time around the Balearics, and is set to carry on lighting up like it’s Christmas overnight, as an upper low dives down over the lower level warmth and sea temps of 26-27c. Could be some very noteworthy rain over the costas and Balearics over the next couple of days. 

Such that Girona and Barcelona are on red alert for extreme rain tonight, and then into Valencia and Alicante over the next few days. Flash flooding will probably be imminent.

Should be a very good lively night down in the med tonight. Barcelona could be the place to be later on I’d imagine as the upper flow starts to pull in from the E/SE, steering all that humid air back in off the med, as the cooler air aloft with the upper low migrates S.

Yes,i see that you mentioned that earlier,i will keep a look out in that area,should i be watching the England match,naaa!

Lol. Usually I’d be holidaying down there, as September is my favourite time to go down to the med (I wonder why lol)

Nah not this year. Wish I had done. Definitely will next year. 

And yep, that is a monster brewing out there now. Seems to be a huge line of CB’s organising going by the flashes. Looks to be out over menorca way.

Not sure there’s that many over there unfortunately. They always seem to get the big storms though. Even when I’ve been there, they’ll often avoid Majorca, but then really ramp up just to the East out to sea and give menorca a direct hit! 

Edit: My god, lightning maps now going absolutely bonkers with that Menorca line. Definitely a violent MCS developing out there. 400 strikes per minute on the thing!
