Well that was fun. A real humdinger. I saw the lightning approaching in the distance from the SW when all of a sudden the wind went from a light breeze to what must have been gales in a matter of SECONDS. I've never seen such strong gusts pick up out of nowhere like that. The wind gradually lessened but the lightning became almost continuous.

I took this video but it doesn't do the storm justice at all - the thunder, lightning and noise of the wind felt twice as intense as watching the footage played back, and the camera didn't pick up many of the smaller flashes to the side. Got some good lightning shots though (3:52, 4:41, 6:11, 7:46, 8:34, 9:24 - including my astonished reaction :D, 12:33, 15:08, maybe more).

thank God for this thread. This is pretty much a several times a week occurrence for the past 2 months that these insane storms form!

Another level 2 out for Poland today. More MCS's expected. There's just so much energy generated over there thanks to the Alps with great orographical lift, strong diurnal heating and the moisture laden flow off the Mediterranean.

Looks like the file might be too big to download in one go, so I'll split it up into more manageable chunks later.

brno in the Czech Republic looking on course to get slammed by a huge MCS. Any cams found there would be much appreciated!

Have loads of family living there (it's where my parents are from too), am thinking of visiting in the next few weeks. Hopefully more storms to come there, have seen some big ones on previous trips! Plus there after a massive storm you don't get a month of freezing Atlantic crap

Looked again at the first frame still and you can see the decaying bolt where it struck... the shower of sparks erupt in the next frame.

Keep an eye on the Wroclaw Cam, as it could provide  good show sometime soon!

I saw that one too. It's getting very dark as a result now. Overshooting tops in this system on sat 24!

Another very small one, and get a load of those clouds! (at the very end of the cam's view)
