Not surprised those storms are massive.

Had a severe TS yesterday here, 2 cm hail, a funnel and around 100mm in 2 hours, basement was flooded approx 3 cm!

Right now there is a TS storm watch (just heard a rumble) and a flood warning for my area.

Meanwhile a possible deadly development is unfolding in some mountainous areas in germany:

OMG I hope everyone stays safe.

At least three dead in that storm in Germany, one of them trapped in an underground car park. Horribly scary.

Just returned from the Charente and although we had some pretty wicked thunder and a lot of rain it was nothing like further north. Crossing over the Loire at Tours I have never seen it so high.

Worth mentioning if nothing else, looked like an LP supercell signature 30 mins ago and also looked like it was left moving (another indicator). Dissipating now though.

Next week just beginning to be talked about. Looks like a gentle start, but from Wednesday onward it's the first "pic de chaleur" (heat spike) of the year. Time to get the duvet off the bed for a few days and the sheet and blanket on!

In French, but you'll get the idea.

I suspect the MCS and Supercell scenarios are all to play for. Fruit and veg. producers are going to be on tenterhooks and I'll be covering my potagers...

This is too fresh in my memory just a little under a year on:

That was indeed remarkable. I've lived in Leeds all my life but I have never seen anything like that here. You certainly wouldn't expect a thunderstorm like that over the Dales or surrounding areas considering how cool and cloudy it is in summer. It reached 33C here on 1 July but we were not rewarded with anything.

Might be audible from Moenchengladbach, if there's one there?

That is a hell of a storm, constant lightning non-stop.
