Not a bad group for Wales, certainly have a chance to qualify from that. While Republic of Ireland will also fancy their chances.

A hard group for Northern Ireland.

England will fancy their chance, while Scotland may fancy getting 2nd.

Excellent, this will be the first time I've seen us play Scotland in a competitive fixture in my living memory :)

England and Slovakia  to qualify. :D

Only the group winner qualifies automatically.

The top 8 (out of 9) runners up will go into the play-offs.

For those wondering the qualifying gets underway in September 2016 who'll be in charge of England then remains to be seen as Roy Hodgson's current contract runs out at the end of next years Euro's in France

Scotland must fancy their chances there.

No group of death.

No group of death.

Group A with  Holland , France and Sweden could be  classed as the Group of Death . Also Italy or Spain could have problems with them being in the same group .   England versus Scotland should be two good games .

The Fifa Rankings seem a  bit strange when Wales  who haven't even qualified for a major tournament since the 1950's are ranked higher than Spain who have won 3 out of the last 4 major tournaments .

The World Rankings are based on current results which for Wales are good (currently 10th in World) and better than for example Spain, In the Last world cup draw Wales were ranked 116th in the World, so it goes round in cycles.

I bet the Met and the Glasgow police are really looking forward to the England/Scotland fixtures.

I was in Glasgow in May 1987 for the Scotland/England home nations fixture. Spent the lunchtime before kick off in the Queens Park cafe, as a 'guest' of a mate's Scottish work coĺleague. Kept my mouth shut for 2 hours which was a first!

The evening in Glasgow was one of running battles, but we found our way to a couple of safe bars and then a club, where the Scottish gals didnt seem too bothered about us being English. Dont think the Scots guys in the club were too happy though that their fellow Scots were fraternising with a couple of English lads.

Good times.

As a republic supporter thought we got out of jail with the group we got as we were lowly 4th seeds. Still difficult for us (we were 4th seeds for a reason after all,we don't lose all that much but don't win all that much either) but think we have a decent enough chance. Delighted to have avoided all the big guns. Thank god we avoided fellow 4th seed Bulgaria's group for example.

More weight should be given to a team's performance in the major tournaments . In the 2014 World Cup , England finished bottom of their group and  are now ranked higher than all those countries who finished above them .

I am happy for Wales and hope they justify their top seeding .
