Skies going ominously dark to my South, though unfortunately unable to give much of a cloud description beyond that. Sky looking more convective to my East now too.

Update - might sound a little minor but just felt a warm and humid breeze for the first time...the juice is here.

Supposedly anyone in the path of these cells over the south coast/iow could be in for a treat as the expected storm mode is Supercell, until things merge into an MCS later. Allready some good stratiations and interesting looking bases reported - keep the pics rolling in!

Evening all

Thought I'd post some pics I took whilst flying back from Rome at 36,000ft this evening . Some nice high level formations over France were on display, but I was cursing the dirty window!

First two were taken over the French/Italian border, and the last 3 were near Rouen (nw of Paris)

The Wilts convection earlier as I understand it was on the northward moving warm front, but there is some converging surface winds over our area at the mo it looks like, so maybe something will spark off

Casual observation but noting I don't have a giant metre stick handy, the cloud bases to me look lower than two weeks ago. If this is the case then I would draw attention to the severe risk associated with storms, as noted particularly in Nick's forecast and that too of Estofex.

Another, again perhaps minor observation, aeroplanes taking an usual route over my way currently.

Looks like it's firing good and proper over Guildford now

Also looks like I'm in with a chance of it hitting Harefield, where the wind has begun to pick up and it has definitely got cooler in the last 15 mins or so
