BOooM! Godalming direct hit tonight! :-D you couldn't make this up!

I kinda wish I'd stuck with Guildford but my hope is the storm will grow as it moves north and the lightning will get more frequent...

Clouds looking nice over us now...

Nice pic, almost looks like an infant undulatus asperatus. It's a good sign!

I have been in Egham the last 2 days but of course I had to come home to Devon today, and as expected a storm is heading right for Egham..

Sounds like my type of luck haha. Always when I go on holiday I get the reports of my family raving over a big storm, almost taunting me lol.

That is the main reason why I always go to the Balearics in September! As I've always seen at least a couple of belters each time I've gone out there at that time!

Check out this bad boy about to hit the Isle of Wight!

Gorgeous! So far, model wise I'd say NMM5 and NMM10 and GFS on the money. If you take a peak at how they evolve proceedings....:yahoo:

No chicken counting though, anything can happen.

In the past 5 minutes, this is my view looking west...nice little AcCas turrets (not textbook though granted but some vertical motion)

post-3790-0-47030600-1437076382_thumb.jp

And looking east...nice mid level Cu but not exactly taking off

Well as expected, the electrical activity is within the 15C line and thats why im not expecting much west of a line from Southampton to Peterborough....

As NMM and GFS have been steadfast in suggesting will evolve...next 2-3 hours looking interesting and as night fades will hopefully give more of us a shout at flash spotting :D

Gone very quiet on here has everyone gone out casing lol

I think the intent to rob at a later date or time is frowned upon @ NW :D

12z ECMWF appears to develop an MCS from London area NE up through E Anglia by midnight, presumably from mergers of storms coming up from IOW and new storms forming around and ahead of them from outflow created. Early days ... Nice to see this evening plenty of towering Ac catching the last of the sun's light.

I think I might actually be in the best spot for tonight. There is even a pub behind me lets you take your beers down into the park on the hill. Here's a pic of my view to the SW...

Stunning pub. Have something similar here, but if I head down there in a storm I'm certain to get killed by the other half lol

Haha yep used to this sort of luck, and that is something I intend to do sometime as I have heard it can be good down there in the Autumn.

There was some nice Ac Cas here earlier, mainly to the east before it moved off with the instability.

This is what I've got above me at the moment. Some nice initiation. Reports of thunder heard in Suffolk.

Edit: scratch that the thunder report was 2 hours ago.
