We had an overnight minimum of 15.3C. The record high November min here is 13.2C so unless it drops later its going to be smashed.

Currently 16*C at the moment back at home. Not sure it'll get much higher today to be honest. Does almost feel a bit like March at the moment, minus the new shoots and green foliage appearing on plants.

While perhaps nothing super duper exceptional, still some quite amazing temperatures recorded on here in the last few days.

Be a shock at the end of the week when we get a brief shot of colder air, not desperately cold but a noticeable drop off in temps from where we are now.

Well today is my highest November max since I started 01/01/1997 at 18.8C and the highest in the RAF Finningley data 1943-1995 was 18.5C on 4/11/71, so perhaps the highest in many decades for this area unless someone in this area has a higher max today. Obviously a possibility. Not sure about the minimum value as not had chance to check yet.

Hope that front stays well away, today was better than expected. BBC went for overcast skies, turned out reasonably sunny. Also reached 18C vs 16C predicted. Hope they are wrong tomorrow too!

Good day for you, 18C and sunny, sometimes not that good in summer! 16C here with min of 14C

Looking forward to a showery night after the cold front clears, heralding the first convective polar maritime spell since the beginning of September.

Another dire autumn with nothing going for it. Horrendous just like 2011 and 2014. Nothing lower than 1.6C all season, lots of gloomy dull days, with no sunny days for over a week, and maxes of 9-14C which are not noteworthy at all for the time of year. Only 3 dry days this month so far and rain likely most days for the forseeable emulating last years horror show November which clocked up 25 rain days. It is as mind-numbingly tedious and unpleasant as it's possible to get.

Even in my 11 years of records, covering the most disgusting frost-free autumns in history, the temperature has always got lower than 1.6C by now - even in 2011 and 2014 despite having even less in the way of clear skies, 1.2C in 2005 being the previous highest low by this stage.

This just says it all. Lowest Autumn temp by 12th Nov with number of air frosts and sub-2C minima in brackets:

2005: 1.2 (0/1)

2006: 0.0 (0/2)

2007: 1.1 (0/2)

2008: -1.1 (3/9)

2009: -1.4 (1/7)

2010: -1.5 (2/9)

2011:  0.8 (0/2)

2012:  -2.5 (6/17)

2013: -1.4 (4/8)

2014: -0.1 (1/4)

2015: 1.6 (0/1)

Worst of the lot for seasonable weather and only one year in 11 (2012) where there has been more colder weather than the long term average. Autumns like 2008 and 2010 (excluding last week of Nov) are what we should be seeing most years not this trash

Think we might go the entire autumn season without a single air frost. There's a first time for everything.

Looks unlikely to me the latter part of November has promise.

No frost till 1st December in 2009 so a frost free autumn would not be a first here. But if we cant get below 4C this month, November will have the highest absolute minimum of any month this year. The summer months had all those chilly nights.

Richard, you live too close to the coast! I'm not that much further inland, but we've already had several air frosts this year. Nothing extreme I'll admit, and probably less than I'd expect, but I've had to scrape the car windscreen more than once.

I'll admit, the weather in general the last week or two has been pretty uninspiring. We've not had the high temps 'the south' have been getting, instead we've been getting low teens under grey, and very often quite misty, skies. I wouldn't say we've had it that bad rain wise though, not compared to those further West anyway.

Cheer up, the sun's out this morning. A bright, cool, breezy Autumn day (for now at least).

Finally a breezy sunny showery day!

Cooler too. Although yesterday night went down to 3.0C surprisingly, (before warming up to a mild cloudy 14C again during the day yesterday). Last night was warmer at 7.8C

Until yesterday this month had been warmer than the average for the whole of September, or the first 10 days of June which both averaged 12.7C.
