Excavations at sites deep in the Cairngorm glens around the Mar Lodge Estate in Aberdeenshire have produced radiocarbon dates showing humans were presents far back as 8100 BC.

I think that time coincided with a relatively warm period following the last age.

 

Almost certainly correct as the 'Holocene optimum' occurred between about 9,000 and 5,000 years ago  though the timing of the warmest and moistest conditions probably varied somewhat between different regions.
