It's maybe not the usual weather watcher's show, but Ian will be on This Morning (on ITV) shortly to talk about lightning and lightning safety :D

Good work Ian! A great bit of info on there, for those who don't understand it.

I hope you gave Gok some fashion tips?

Gok could write a book on Ian's fashion skills, or lack of them! Think he did a good job with the lightning chat though :D

Going to check in out on ITV+1 in a few minutes. Then I might have to go and have a shower.

Just been listening to the Jeremy vine show where a few experts commented on what to do if caught out by lightening and when in open ground 'lie as flat as you can on the ground'......not what I thought, are you not supposed to have knees and elbows on the ground so if you did get struck power would travel through the limbs and miss vital organs and the brain??!!

It's definitely not flat, crouched with bum on your heels and head near the knees is the most often quoted position - so the shortest route to ground is through the bum to the feet.
