No squall for Pantz! Only 2 to 3mm of light rain fell as well.

I did record some good gusts of wind this evening though, 42.5mph, not too shabby for my location. :D

Pretty remarkable, 2 rounds of lightning and thunder and epic sheeting rain and wind for about 10 minutes. No lightning showing on the radar detector though.

So not just me then! Was taken a bit by surprise by the thunder - and the rain. Mainly as the rain didn't knock out our Sky signal (normally does when it gets really heavy). I jokingly said to the wife 'hope it was thunder, otherwise Warminster is under attack..."

Blimey, sounds like I missed the squall while at a dinner in Bath. Definitely noticed the temperature change leaving at 11pm compared to going in at 7pm.

Aha I forgot about that detector even though it's in my favourites list, now that shows how rare thundery activity has been lol.

I am guessing you added the yellow lightning to it though? Brilliant for zooming in to see where it happened.

Cheers Andy. I'll blame it on the 4 year old that we borrowed for the day.

Anyway... I'm going to pop out to Maplin later to pick up a weather station, I reckon. Nothing fancy, but it should cheer me up.

She's up...

Good work!

Looks like a beautiful location?! When all the elements are being thrown at you, there's nothing more satisfying than being inside, all warm and cosy and being able to view what's going on outside via the console. :D

Cheers Mapantz. That's what I keep telling the Mrs... She's fed up with the reading updates already.

I've got a wireless Raspberry Pi here, so I'm going to try and hook that up to it too. It'll keep me out of trouble while we wait for Winter.

So much for a sunny day... windy and drizzly is the order of the day here today.

Cheers Rich.

Just an update on the Raspberry Pi connection...

Following http://www.weather.dragontail.co.uk/index.php?page=station_setup was pretty straightforward, so we've now got the console USB connected
to the Pi. The Pi has a wireless dongle, so it now automatically ftp's the data to my website.

The best bit is that when browsing to it in Google Chrome, we can broadcast the web page to the TV, via the Chromecast.

This has really impressed the OH.:laugh:

Going to look into the data visualisation next to see if we can get it looking as fancy as Mapantz's.

Ian warned on his Points West forecast yesterday evening that some places could see thicker cloud and some drizzle at times, presumably a weak area of instability moved up the Bristol Channel area.

Been a fine day in West Wiltshire with sunny spells and banks of cloud, comfortably up into double figures again too after a 4.5c min.
