Well I just got back and looks like I didn't miss anything. It looks like the storms are going west of us as well. Can see a very dark sky though to my west.

Well that downpour would have soaked a fair few grockles watching the air show, it came in very quickly. Case of was it the European jet fighter or thunder, well I think it was both for a short while, now it's just pitter patter raindrops!

The bulk of the rain and storms have gone to the west of us.  Short lived heavy rain but no t or l .  Next batch is to the east of us.  No doubt it will wait until I'm in bed to score a direct hit!

South Glos storm shield holding strong, must of done a firm ware update with windows 10 I was hoping the windows 10 update might of weakened defenses. Unless it's running on Linux or OSX.

Quite annoyed that I missed a mammoth storm in Yatton while still in Bristol. If only they'd come later as I thought they might, I would've seen one. Just hoping for another one so I can film it.

Couple of lightning flashes and a rumble of thunder, accompanied by the most torrential rain I've ever seen. All over in a few minutes.

As of typing there is monsoon like rain outside!!

I did hear thunder this afternoon to my north which looked to be Gloucester way and about 45 minutes later we were hit by very heavy rain

The small wave was a little further north at 00z over west Wales with the cold front lying just east of here. A couple of charts with the GFS take on the movement of the front.

Here cloudy with Sc and St. Temp 12C and calm

Quite a morning with sudden torrential bursts of rain pulsing along the very slow moving front, only lacking in frequent thundery activity although one distant rumble heard earlier and another a minute ago. Practically day darkness at the moment. 17.6c .

Yes this slow moving rain has deposited 15mm here today so far while places not many miles East have had next to none. Seems to lie on an axis through North and East Somerset. West Wiltshire and Hampshire with some thunder near the Channel earlier as pulses of heavier rain run NW along the axis of the front.

Worst of the rain has left us now after depositing 23.6mm to 09.00GMT and less than another mm since.  Still feeling warm and muggy even though the temp is currently only16°C.  No storms and didn't even see/hear l or t overnight.

Two manual gauges had 29mm in each..   Bucket on weather station has given. Must replace this afternoon.
