watching countryfile, next week does not look to bad to be honest

I'm still not sure how the BBC 5 day forecast online got it all so badly wrong at short notice!

Monday was another glorious day and today was also really pleasant in the sunshine.

Tomorrow looks gorgeous again, but Saturday onwards looks decidedly poor (maybe the BBC have got it wrong again  )

Yes I was surprised we had thunder mid-afternoon - and lashing rain, but it only gave another 1mm or so.
Quite a long time since we had a rather wet and windy day.

Had some pretty torrential rain about 3pm in Newcastle, I mean absolutely lashing it down and bouncing high off the road. That after a fairly dull and wet morning with some chiefly lightish rain.

Then by 4:30 the sun was out and it was like a different day!

British weather rules!

Could hardly believe we've had 36mm since midnight. (and still raining)
Since it's almost calm and wasn't rattling the windows I heard it starting but was a bit shocked on checking the gauge.
Easily the wettest day of the year.

No posts on here for 10 days?! Bloody hell troops, come on!

Lovely day today, but a decidely chilly feel in the air too.

Sunset was lovely, I spent all evening driving up and down the A1058 Coast Road and caught a delightful dusk.

As the leaves are now falling, my thoughts are starting to turn towards my favourite time of the year ... winter! I think we're due a little bit of good fortune this winter, after some really poor efforts in recent years. The last decent wintry weather we had in Newcastle was in the two bad winters in 2009/10ish.

Have seen first brief snowfalls around mid-month before, could well be some on the higher ground.

Today is looking a bit disappointing with a high cloud layer making it feel chilly and damp, even with almost no wind. Edited by 4wd

Quiet a nice day today, plenty of sunshine and feeling pleasant in just a t-shirt.

Nice video posted above, hopefully we'll see plenty of the white stuff over the coming Winter months :D

Parts of the region have a fog warning from 01:00 this could scupper the Supermoon Eclipse for some

Areas under the warning are Durham, Darlington, Stockton-on-Tees, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, Sunderland

It's been foggy here but did stop it getting as cold as yesterday which was quite frosty first thing.
Sun is just breaking through now.

Weather has been fantastic all week at Beadnell, with little or no cloud, however temperatures have been pegged back by South easterly wind. Note today Boulmer is currently recording 20'C, with wind off land, making it warmest place in UK.
