Just saw a beautiful fork over Aycliffe. Only very faint thunder. I can't get the radar to work to see the track. Wind has just picked up.

Rain here in aycliffe after a great increase in wind. Lightning still distant and more to the west of me, but seen some big flashes and rumbles of thunder increasing

Could see the flashing and was surprised how far away it was.
Has been a few spots of rain from separate little shower.

Wind is suddenly gusting up in a rather curious way.

Just started raining here but T&L lacking at the moment.

Thunder a bit more regular now with a fair bit of distant lightning.

Well it was another very close but no cigar moment again. Am getting used to them where I live. There will be plenty more in winter no doubt. Hope the people out west have had a good show. Curtainly looked good.

Easing now from here, still distant flashes/rumbles but further away now. Seen about 7 great fork lightning strikes with streaks across the night sky... so good show. Just a tad too west of me this time.

Looks like the region is bathed in lots of cloud and mist / fog at the moment

Western parts of the region may brighten up as the day goes on but the eastern side is likely to remain dull most of the day with temps in the high teens

Yes what a difference 1 day can make... lots of mist and drizzle rolling in from the coast plus a keen wind to add to the dissapointing feel of things.

Feel like we have went from high summer to late autumn in 24 hours.

You based in london now??

Another dull, foggy and damp start to the day here. this should lift and retreat back to the east coast but linger here all day.

some warm sunshine inland later too. Question is how quick this low cloud/mist burns back to the coast.

Hopefully you'll start and see it brighten up by early afternoon today inland for those at the coast it may remain cloudy and murky all day

It should be a better day tomorrow once the has cleared through clearer skies will follow

Couldn't of picked a better day to go out and about @ the forbidden corner... lovely sunny day, gentle breeze and little cloud in the way to spoil it.
