Third dull day in a row and feels rather cold for June, however this mornings rain has moved away. Its more like November than June.

Next week doesn't look too bad at this stage

Not a great deal of rain so far this month following on from a very dry May

Yet another abysmal June day, max 12C some rain and winds up now. We really do need to see the wind blowing from a different direction, seems to have been from between North and East for 3 month now bar the odd day.

Wind is a bit more to NW today though and cloud layer has lifted.
There have also been more definite showers but rather light.

Couldn't agree more,9c with occasional rain here this afternoon is pretty poor for mid-June,but should be a vast improvement from tomorrow afternoon onwards as we finally lose that NE flow and replace it with Westerly/South-Westerly winds as we head into next week.

The odd band of rain will be a small price to pay.

Even average temps, 17/18 will be welcome, anything higher a bonus!

Looks like temps will return to average or just above any prolonged sunshine should see temps into the low 20's how much sunshine we get remains to be seen

Statistically mid March - mid June is when northerlies and easterlies are most likely to occur, thanks to the weaker jetstream and weaker temperature thermal gradient contrasts over our nearby seas. From now onwards westerlies tend to take over, and we see the typical NW/SE divide take shape. Second half of summer is often much drier and settled on the east side of the Pennines than the west side - those horrible grey murky misty claggy southwesterly skies broken up when they hit the Pennines. The August satellite picture with cloud covering most of Cumbria and west coast springs to mind.. whilst the east coast is clear.

Taking a look at those temps which were forecast on Saturday temps are some 3c to 5c higher than forecast across the region

Yep, reached 23c late this afternoon here today. looking nice tomorrow with similar temps... though more mixed into the weekend with some hefty showers but still nice if you miss them.

They look much more potent than yesterday - but mostly well west of here and heading south.
Could do without it as there is grass cut outside to pick up later tomorrow.
With wind in the North again briefly, it's only 15.4C and I'd not be surprised if the sea fog is lurking

We had a very heavy shower around lunchtime today, the sky was almost black! The two (in quick succession) thunderstorms we had last night were lovely.

Anyway, back to the football. Enjoy the rest of your weekend ladies and gents.

Pleasing to see that you were all concerned about my wet underpants. Thanks a lot folks.

It's bloody windy tonight, but such a mild/warm breeze after a really humid day.
