It's really cold here this afternoon at 9.6C with stiff NE wind and sun all but gone - no T shirts for a few days.
It was down to +1.7C at 5am too, so probably a ground frost.

A maximum of just 8.6C here though, more like a January damp day with stiff NE wind.
A builder friend was working at a rather exposed property and had to quit as he felt he was starting hypothermia from being (unusually) not quite prepared for it after the last few days have been springlike.
2.2mm here but didn't really start until after 3pm and about done now.

I got drenched doing deliveries in that rain on Wednesday. After such a prolonged dry spell (by and large) it was a bit of a shock how bad conditions were.

Had a fab day yesterday walking along the beach at Seaton Sluice with my 11yo daughter. It was typical of what I think was a Northerly airmass? Clear blue skies but very little warmth in the sun, so grateful I wore my hoodie!

Saw the daily Emirates flight fly overhead quite low, and several other aircraft leaving Newcastle airport heading for warmer climes. People walking their dogs, an old couple sat on fold up chairs reading their respective books, two pony's being treated to a paddle in isolated areas of shallow sea water as the tide went out. And I thought to myself, what a wonderful place the coast is.

Happy bank holiday folks :)

Despite all this cloud all we've had was a bit of drizzle last night with the more persistent rain managing to stay to our south

Hopefully the weekend will see slow improvements for the east with this cloud slowly starting to thin

It has been (and still is) pretty dreadful here with temperature practically stuck on 9C and strong NNE wind.
That's bad enough but constant drizzle and low cloud and thick fog it's a severe as anything this year.
If you were caught out on the moors in this it would be very dis-orientating and things could soon go seriously wrong.

The cloud is clearing from the north slowly but surely whether we see any late afternoon / evening sunshine only time will tell

2 days running we've had some afternoon sunshine breaking though

Not feeling as chilly today even under the cloud now the breeze has died down

We seem to have been stuck on page 51 of this thread for about 2 years now!!

Anyway, I'm forecast 15c and a rather pleasant and dry looking Saturday. Hope so, a bit of sunshine at the weekend is always a tonic.

Have a good weekend folks :hi:

Starting to get fed up of the cool, cloudy, misty, damp weather now, especially as it now june... where is the glorious blue skies with lovely warm temperatures??

Another dull morning but as with past couple days it should clear later to sunshine

Looking dry for most over weekend into next week and if you live away from eastern coast side of region temperatures will be on the rise the further inland you go to the west. Mid 20's easily over next few days.

1st sign of proper summer for alot of the country coming up :)

A damp start with some patchy drizzle around but it will get better as the day progresses

Clearer out in the north sea today as well so we shouldn't have the constant flow of cloud

Quite a transformation in the weather across the region today from cold foggy drizzly rubbish to warm and sunny.

Long may it continue.:)

The cloud is still proving stubborn to shift here not cold though

Hopefully tomorrow will be sunny from dawn to dusk for the majority of the region

Right on the coast is going to be tricky to call just gonna be a case of wait and see
