Well wonder what today brings weather wise?

Plenty of showers this afternoon I suspect though maybe not quite as wintry as they were yesterday to lower parts

Sure has, just drove from chester-le-street to newton aycliffe again today and passed through a rash of showers... had heavy hail just after chester on A1m then heavy sleet around durham turn off then mostly rain after with a few flakes mixed then bone dry at newton aycliffe.

Snowing steadily here now, these showers very slow moving. shame ground too wet for anything to stick. looks nice though :)

Cannot believe darlo is still dry when you look at the amount of showers about

Feeling cold outside now, little wind and clear skies for many will mean one thing... frosty night ahead.

Yes,already at freezing or below for a lot of the region which is pretty unusual for late April.

Unusually cold last night even in the towns and cities in the region cars shaded from the sun here in Darlo are still in frost

Rain and hill snow later will mark the transition away from the northerly winds we should be back in double figures from Saturday onwards

Yes a very frosty start this morning, hailstones here at the moment. Think a very wintry mix later tonight for many as this low passes across the region.

Higher hills could get a good covering.

Just had the heaviest of hail showers and now turned to thick snow albeit a bit wet at first.

It feels more like early March than almost May - sleety rain and 3C

Feels more like January!! Hopefully the end is in sight, a week now of single figure max's including a couple of day's 3/4C mid afternoon, snow on several day's.......horrendous for doing anything outside and the wildlife.

As I've said before, surely we're due some of this global warming/hottest year on record stuff?!

Snowing here again and starting to settle on the grass. Currently 1.3C. Radar shows sleet as it crosses the Pennines but it's defo snow here and thick flakes :cold-emoji:

Been too busy to log in here the past 48 hours or so, but what a fantastic couple of days it's been!

Left work yesterday in heavy settling snow just outside North Shields which continued for most of my 20 minute journey home. Today, a really heavy 45min+ shower of light rain/sleet/heavy snow (which didn't settle today). If only this set up had been 2 months or so ago we'd have seen fun and games. But still nice to get silly weather when you shouldn't be getting it!

The overnight frosts have been hard too. Loved the weather from midweek onwards this week!!

cloudy and damp this morning... not as much percipitation as i expected there to be overnight. low pressure out in north sea now with bands of rain swirling around over the region with wintryness on higher ground or heavy bursts lower down this morning then easing later this evening.

Hopefully we can now skip straight to summer next month and get some nice two fine days then a thunderstorm :D

EDIT: sleet here now. feels cold outside too in that wind
