BBC weather forecast appeared to indicate a mainly dry night though looking at radar still a lot of showers coming in off north sea.

Had some showers overnight but no snow or ice this morning, drying up now but cloudy.

Lots of showers running down north sea again edging inland a little now around tynside/sunderland... showing as snow on netweather radar even at coast... not sure if that correct.

It's correct but it's by far the lightest serie of snow showers I've ever seen in my life and extremely intermittent between around 8am this morning and now. Needless to say none of it settled on the already saturated ground.

Yet again we seem to be out of luck for the showers. There just south of us again.

It's good to hear some warmer weather is on the way.

Flurries of proper dry snow fluttering down most of the afternoon - barely damped surfaces but rather pretty.

high pressure looks likely to build towards next week end, where this drifts over us will depend on wether we get some milder or colder weather... looking like warming up but may turn colder if high pressure drifts further west/north.

As ever we wont know for sure till nearer the time

The lightest ever snow is also falling here. Like you said, shame there isn't much on radar.

Tomorrow looks like a wash out with temps around 4c to 6c (lower for higher ground where some snow is possible)

The rain is here expect this to hang around for several hours yet better day tomorrow then slow improvements as high pressure starts and builds probably going a week at least with no or very little rain once its over us

It was almost light before it started here but been fairly steady since, more than 5mm already.
It's about 4.5C so not seeing sleetiness so far - feels cold though and wind is picking up from North.

A very nice early spring day today after a frosty and foggy start in places.

Could be a north sea drizzle-fest setting up tomorrow though.

I was surprised it got down to -2.7 last night and has not been as mild as previous day with easterly setting in, though it felt warm in teh sun and I saw bees on snowdrop flowers. The first daffodils are opening at last.
It's  clear and 2.8C now so ground frost already in shelter.

Cloudy again but I was expecting more in the way of mist / fog and drizzle we may even see this cloud start and lift as the day progresses
