After some glorious sunshine yesterday afternoon (which allowed beer garden frequenting!) today is now pretty cloudy but quite pleasant.

Nothing out the ordinary here TBH a period of steady moderate rain the odd rumble of thunder and thats it not humid enough for a proper thunderstorm

current temp is just 13.6c

Bit late, but we drove through a fairly big thunderstorm yesterday on the A69 near Hexham with large hail, torrential rain, and fairly frequent lightning. It seemed to die on the radar before it reached Newcastle though!

Felt more like January out there today in the rain, and a noticeably chilly feel to things.

The beauty of British weather is, we can go from 28c to 13c inside 7 days during the heart of summer!

Yes actually lit the stove here this evening after getting rather damp in the drizzly showers - and it's below 9C.
Hard to believe a week ago all windows open the house felt very warm at least upstairs.

Watch out for some thunderstorms later this evening

Finer details of who will and won't get them will come down to radar watching later on

Quite a warm day was Friday. Car thermo was up to 27c mid-late afternoon.

It's bizarre because it's been raining here for about 45 mins but the decking isn't properly wet yet!

No sign of any thunderstorms unfortunately.

Light rain here now.

Typical as I was hoping to sit outside this evening with a beer.

It was quite pleasant earlier in the afternoon.

Why is our discussion pinned?

Are we on some sort of double secret probation. :D

Haha I noticed that too!

I thought maybe I'd pinned it there on my page using my settings (nobody else would have it pinned), but obviously not.

We're special :D  :yahoo:

Off topic, but the homepage says the current temperature in Cairngorm is -25.5c.

Is that right and is that normal for this time of year?

Sounds like a spurious reading, definitely not right.

Cheers for the reply, I thought it seemed a bit too cold

This week looks decidedly ordinary weather-wise for us in the NE. No real heat, nothing overtly cold and the odd shower here and there but with plenty of cloud about.

Suits me.
