Another day a very similar story - damp, grey and mild! Stayed in double figures overnight with a low of 11.7c, currently 13.0c.

Really gloomy & wet day, one of the street lights is on down the road and need a light on in the house.... Better get used to it for the next 2/3 months.

Typical... The cloud clears as the sun set!! But this is the clearest sky I've seen all week... 13.2c.

spent a whole day cutting firewood last week too ..

Just hope that the firewood you were cutting wasn't the North West thread emergency chairs.

Slightest glimpse of a sleet symbol on Diane's weather map and you'll not be able to move in here so we need to be prepared.

Meanwhile after another day that started damp and ended up even wetter, a slight clearance arrived at dusk to give an amazing pinky sunset.

All in all a poor end to a poor working weeks weather.

Wet here for the last few hours and a forecast showing plenty more to come this morning.

Hopefully drying up later but certainly a complete change from last weekend.

Currently 10c.

Rain eased a bit here but still wet and with the cloud covering the moors down to about 350m a typical winters day here.

Rain getting heavier again and the wind has started to really pick up.

Maybe the cold front is coming through, hopefully followed by a clearance so I can pick up the covering of soggy leaves that have dropped over the last few days.

The trees really are bare here now.

Lovely and sunny here for the past half hour. Temperature has dropped from 13.2 to 11.0°C since the cold front cleared. Should be a nice afternoon.

Radar shows a narrow squall line crossing the region from west to east.

This must be what we are having at the moment, heavy rain and very strong winds.

A bit of blue between the clouds now and finally it's stopped raining although probably getting ready for the showers to start.

The fall in temperature has been quite drastic dropping from 14.4 to 11.4c in just 30 minutes as the front cleared through.

Been reading posts here for years so I though I'd join in as winter creeps up.

Interesting morning. Heavy rain, strong winds and now bright sunshine.

Drop in temp of 3c as front passed through.

Cheers.

Welcome Mark and get ready for the roller coaster that is Net Weather in winter.

The regional thread is mainly banter from a friendly bunch where as the model threads can get a bit heated at times but worth visiting all the same.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
