one of those cells passed near here, just a heavy-ish shower,  they look more impressive than they are   tbh  ,  not enough oomph in them for decent thundery activity ,   that vital  ingredient is missing , warmth !  these just feel like those run of the mill october/november showers than run in off the Irish sea, nice to look at though

Its been an especially grim day for Late July here, on the back of an equally grim day yesterday, and a grim day on Sunday. We've had pulses of very heavy rain interspersed with drizzly muck for near on 60 hours now! and temps have failed to get any higher than 13 degrees in the same time period - shocking.

Today was especially miserable, with grey leaden skies , though we had a bizzare shot of bright sunshine lasting about 2 seconds around 7pm before the rain came back again resulting in a cold evening temps around 10 degrees and a quick descent into dusky dark skies around 9pm. Its 28 July I have to remind myself it isn't 28 October...

Thankfully tomorrow should be a much better day with lengthy dry bright periods and sunshine at times despite significantly below average maxima once again followed by a jolly chilly night for July.

Not a single shower here today. Remarkably dry northwesterly for Manchester.

So far the 12z models are bringing the low much closer to us early next week.

So it should be showery and breezy.

Not been too bad actually in the sun, today with light winds and a high of 18°C (2°C higher than the forecast).

Agreed, not a bad day and felt pleasantly warm in the afternoon but after the abysmal conditions of the last few days, anything would be an improvement.

Tomorrow is looking good and after a blip on Friday, hopefully a dry and reasonably warm weekend coming up.

Yes a vast improvement on the last three days. I'm liking the possibility of a warm up in early August. Hopefully it will turn out a decent month.

Well we're certainly due a decent August, we've had a few poor ones only to be followed by a change to something better in September.

I love the unpredictability of the northwesterly. Dry as a bone all day and niw I have just caught a hefty shower which came out of nowhere.

Am on holiday in Donegal, Ireland. Lots of rain showers and rainbows but very cold of a night. Have had a hot water bottle to stay warm. I've never known it this cold.

It's not as nice as yesterday morning, but still a million times better than the three days prior to it, this morning. Temperature is a bit on the chilly side at 12°C.

The usual cloudy dross here again today. Sunshine till about 9am and the predictable mid level murk moves in and kills the day. Feeling cold too.

This morning felt more like April or October than late July but once the sun got to work it soon warmed up and turned into a decent day.

Still hardly summer like but compared to the dross we've endured for much of this year, not bad.
