Constant flashing to my east and north-east too now.

Should've driven eastwards into west London.

Seen a few cloud to grounds and got some footage.

Oh no, round three, just when I was planning to get shut eye before having to get up at 6am...

Loads of flashing to my east and just saw a sweet CG strike but it's pretty damn far away the thunder is so distant. Don't know whether to head east or wait for the Bournemouth cell to head a bit more north?

Now is the time I wish I hadn't indulged in a few and could jump in the car. Stuff to WNW is quite spectacular now but I'm wondering if that Bournemouth beauty is coming this way!

Sat in the garden with a beer watching lightning in all directions. Lovely stuff.

My entire northern skyline is perpetually flickering...not quite bright enough for my camera to pick up sadly...awesome.

Didn't get masses of rain here, but, what an amazing lightning display! I'm satisfied!

Fire engines going out from here, not long ago.

am i right in thinking most of the activity is on the cold front? Amazing that we can get night time storms at all in the UK, although very rarely! we normally need the heat of the sun.

Had just packed the camera away and decided that bed calls - until the next cell formed. No direct hits so far but love the activity seen down south.

Why don't you just wait and see what happens? All of those cells around Birmingham and Bristol could be heading our way, and there is nothing to say that they could intensify on their way here.

We weren't forecasted to get anything until 02:00-03:00 up here anyway.

You can see when running the radar through that things are done for here...that stuff in the West Midlands is heading more NE now....you might be lucky but for here it's over as the CF is going through right now.
