If that bournmouth survives its trip up north, It will be a direct hit for me!

What time would you reckon it would hit

I have never seen such random storms breaking out in the UK.

They are literally anywhere, throw a dart at a dartboard blindfold.

Is it worth me staying up here in the west Country or has our chance been and gone.

Don't give up just yet still in with a chance lightning still visible from weston looking south.

Pretty wild here in (normally sunny!) Bournemouth.  Rain now easing, lightning slightly less frequent, thunder getting quieter.  Sat in the dark in my study with the blinds open!

Cells south of me are producing flash every 5 seconds. Looking very active.

Warm front is moving north past us now but wrong side of Pennines.

Cold front is clearly defined over the west Midlands and will move east with the precipitation within moving north. That's the good stuff for us.

Lovely electrical display in Bexleyheath. High based storms mainly IC with the odd CG. Occasional convective downpours. Lightening at least every 5 seconds. Very impressive. Lying here in bed windows and curtains open watching the display. Is this the North Downs effect?

Our drains are overflowing like fountains. I just stood outside for a bit and it was like nothing I've experienced outside of the tropics in recent years. And the rain is warm!
