Bournemouth Storm passed about 25 miles east of me while it may not have been the storm it was a great view.

Strong downdraughts around Eastern edge of the CSE cell right now here in Newbury.

 

I think folk will want to keep tabs on the SE backedge of that cell for anything gust worthy etc.

 

Wouldn't surprise me if it didn't develop a hook echo out Hungerford/Marlborough way shortly, tornado anyone?

Indeed I understand it is always a hit and miss game but having an interest in storms can get so frustrating and especially on nights like this some places are getting hammered. Really is a shame I could not travel tonight - all the action isn't exactly too far away.

I'm extremely lucky being on the far west of all this lightning, very grateful but I know it's just like how many times will it take to actually see something worthwhile, seemingly very rare

apart from sporadic flashes and a few distant rumbles , its a bit of a disappointment up here after watching the bbc graphics have lightning symbols all over us from 1200pm onwards but not much in the south, in reality its all about the south ,  which seemed it was going to more sporadic down there and more lively up here, sorry bbc/ meto a bit off again

Definately agree. Seems its over for us tonight looking at the radars, nothing south of us to push up any more. Cell near Stoke-on-Trent is too far east
