Torro's forecast re maybe no storms in SE England is out of the water too! lol Can anyone suggest why the storms around Manchester etc became lively and then died a death?

I don't honestly know what that Bournemouth/Wiltshire cell is doing! It's going crazy.

Can anyone around Bristol see lightning, and if so how frequent is it?

I'm seeing IC Lightning every 15 seconds in East Bristol, so yeah!

More frequent than Lightning Detector suggests.

I can see the lightning from that one in Portsmouth. Near constant flashes and forks!

Lots of lightning around me to the South and East and occasionally to the West and I'm some 30 miles away from any of the storms. THAT IS WHY ELEVATED STORMS ARE THE BEST. Get out there and watch those skies folks even if the storms aren't overhead or on your patch as it is a site to behold.   :good:

The above still applies and more frequent Thunder nearing me too. WATCH those skies people if situated between the two big cells, one of which is over London area, the other Andover/Salisbury.

Near constant lightning to the west. Some sporadic stuff to the east but most activity is towards Whitchurch and Andover. Hearing faint rumbles and noticeable drop in temperature.

Only 17° at 12:09? Lol. This is the UK, not Florida. That's a pretty warm night time temperature for the UK.

Storms abated here for now. Nice lightening display. The odd boom of thunder and some convective rain. That's it for the South East tonight I think. Night all. Hope you get what you wish for.

Maybes but 48 hours ago it was 25C at midnight!!!

I think, because they formed on the warm front, they were more just pulse thunderstorms if anything...

Ah that makes sense cheers.  So does that mean as the CF moved in more storms will break out or more likely to break out?

Watching loads of lightning every few seconds for the last 40 mins or so now. Very active cell to my N! Distant thunder only but a couple of brief bursts of torrential rain.
