Remember models are just a guide they are often wrong and storms will pop up from seemingly nowhere even though the computers didn't predict it.(like the other night storms were east of where forecast) If like me you are in the middle of this west/east split keep positive you never know, the ingredients are there, stay positive..... (says me lol, usually the first to whinge)

Time for some beer!!! And if on the off chance we get something here, it will be time for another round of beer!

Just had a look at what the MetOffice has put on its rainfall radar forecast map. Appears to be somethimg big moving north east between 2300 and 0100am through London.

What's everyones thoughts??

My thoughts are as follows:

1. Make sure your phone/camera/camcorder is fully charged - if you have a tripod, set it up now

2. Have a small drink (if of age of course) and chill

3. Keep tabs on this thread of as people post regular updates on developments

4. As the skies darken around sunset, commence perusing the southern and western skies for flashes.

Model and chart gazing of little consequence from now on in. Nobody can give you an answer - just sit back, relax and enjoy the night ahead :D

I'm further east of you so if you don't get at least a light show, I sure as he'll won't.

Oh and IF you must go to sleep, heavens bells set an alarm for no later than midnight!!!!

Anaprop in the Winchester/Salisbury area is beginning to annoy me.

However genuine showers seem to be breaking out over West Somerset and Devon.

Whats an Anaprop?

Nothing is going to happen. Been there and got the T-shirt. Perhaps a slight risk between Oxford and Boston, and a risk of an extreme event in the SE.

I see Altocumulus (?) developing. Looks good for storms.

Rapid development of cells seems to be commencing across S Wales and parts of SW England going by latest radar.

Can report humidity has now shot up in Bexley, coinciding with the Ac/AcCas flood and brief strong breeze.

Humid in Exeter, hope we get a great thunderstorm and rain to clear the air, does anyone know our chances? Thankyou

Wouldn't have thought it'll be long before you see something in your neck of the woods. There's an area of showers to the south of Plymouth that will probably expand north and eastwards over the next few hours. Anyhow, hope you get a great storm! Very humid here too..

A bit of development over me at the moment, in Aylesbury, just cloud building at the moment with a few nice tops growing seen on my journey home from work in Thame. I suppose if anything home grown happens it will develop in the south and give the north the display. We like breeding in the home counties and sending storms north lol. At the moment my thought is west is best lol
