I have a foolproof plan for bringing storms. If everyone goes out and cleans their windows and cars and lights up their BBQ's, by Sods law it will storm. If enough of us do it I reckon we're a sure on for a supercell.

From my experience the best storms are usually a combination of the sw/westerly type joining in with the elevated/heat se/easterly.

July 1989 I remember a terrific storm moved up from Cardiff towards Midlands was a massive MCS, major event.

Lincolnshire? :D

It'll no doubt be renamed Stormshire before long I imagine. The newly christened stormiest place on Earth I suspect. I have a feeling for parts due West of there tonight though. Only time will tell.

You say that, but the house in front of ours had their windows replaced and it didn't even rain.

Hello and welcome to the NetWeather forums fellow WsM'er.

In relation to your question, rain yes, thunder maybe. (That's the best I can offer :))

I am out in town tonight so if anything kicks off I shall try and get some sea front photos. It's really humid now right? I'm sure it wasn't this bad earlier. X

I've got to say it doesn't feel particularly muggy here in Wakefield at the minute - doesn't seem like thunderstorm weather.... We shall see!

I'm actually just down the road but everyone recognises w-s-m. Yes I think it has definitely got more humid in the past hour or so. I have some great clouds around me!

The definition of optimism has to be the primary school directly opposite me who've got their Summer Fete  this evening - complete with BBQ, disco and 2 inflatable bouncy castles

UKMO, NWX-Sr, EURO4 and GFS all favouring an area North of Oxford into Lincolnshire!

NMM slightly further east.

Some large totals on the EURO4

This is misleading - some of those charts clearly show storms firing further south, particularly the NMM and UKMO. As soon as things fire they will very quickly electrify (given high CAPE and high cloud tops).

Either way in the next 2-3 hours we will know what's what :D

Humidity definitely building in London.

If people are getting confused then the best way is to just sit back, close your chart tabs and open up Sat24 and the NW radar. Simples! ;)
