Radar working fine now... but I'm not sure we want to see it! That's a lot of rain heading our way! A very poor last week of August coming up. Summer 2015 going out on a wet and unsettled note.

First lightning strike of the day registered just off the South Coast near Littlehampton. The cell responsible moving west towards the Isle of Wight.

Proper banging it down here in Potters Bar.

Much needed banging rain here too, what a relief today is from that humidity that we have had for ages. It's 14.9c, border line December temps. :cold: Got an old bloke staying with me (dad) and he has whacked the heating on. :help:

I agree, Humidity is only 95% here now! :D Althought it's 16c so we're dandy!

Sunshine! Wasn't too hopeful of that today, but will make atmosphere unstable south of rainband.

LOL! Just checked the humidity here, 97% (WTF) Must feel cool because I got rained on  It gets dark early now, hate it, I wish we could have daylight until 10 pm all year round. 5 pm in the winter is ridiculous.

Home after a great weekend away, the drive up from Hayling Island on he A3 earlier was a bit hairy with torrential rain, fog, spray, people driving like idiots etc etc. Currently not raining here but looks like some beefy showers on the way. Very chilly at just 14C (yuck!) and the northerly wind is pepping up after a calm morning.

A couple of hours light rain this afternoon, bit brighter now. Feeling warmer than yesterday (thanks to lack of howling E'ly wind stripping leaves and small branches off trees).

Nice heavy bursts of rain, in between no rain bits, even some brightness at times.

Much better than boring steady rain all day.

No wind and doesn't even feel cool, around 17/18c here and strangely high humidity of 94% but sure doesn't feel it.

Trouble is ambient temps is making the house heat up real quick if windows are only open a bit, so have to keep opening front and back doors to cool house down.

Kent doing OK for some thunderstorms this afternoon. For the rest of us it's an interesting but slightly frustrating situation.

There's a cluster of storms out in the North Sea and the Low appears to be spiraling favourably for them to make land somewhere between Ipswich and Norfolk. BUT... the Low is also slowly moving east, so will the storms actually make it to the coast before the entire system drifts east??

Well, it rained until just after one, and since then it's just been bits and pieces.

Better than forcast. Again.

I'd say the N Sea is the most likely recipient! Friends reporting a lot of rain in Yarmouth though.
