Same just to the west of you, Alexis. Temp rising as the cloud clears away, now up to 22.7c and the high of the day having been stuck in the high teens until early afternoon. Feeling a little less humid at 78%.

22 humidity 75, it's strange how it's feeling cooler while getting hotter though lol.

25c here in lowland East London so well down on yesterday's extraordinary values but very humid still. We had a little rain mid-morning but the skies have cleared considerably.

Just a word on yesterday - I was in Kingston where the maximum was 35c and I travelled home between 5.30 and 7pm and by the time I got back to East Ham, the temperature was still 34c which is probably the highest I've ever recorded since I've lived here (2005). No sign of the wonderful Estuary breeze that had been such a welcome feature on Tuesday.

Even at 11pm we were still at 28c but by this morning were back down to 20c despite a dry night.

For me, the extraordinary part of yesterday was the strength and breadth of the heat across London. There's often a marked difference between the eastern and western sides of the capital but there wasn't yesterday to the same extent though I know Heathrow (not surprisingly) had the highest recorded number.

Not just London, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire etc were widely in the 30's as well

Nice day again today though obviously nothing on yesterday, only 10 minutes of drizzle from that band of rain earlier and its now sunny and feeling very muggy.

30C with a possibility of severe thunderstorms tomorrow, not been a bad week to be fair!

Lots of cloud and a few showers here earlier. That changed at 3pm when the sun came out and the temperature shot up from 24C to 26.3C at Writtle at 4pm (and I'm recording 28C on my station at the moment).

It's very noticeable how much difference the sun makes at this time of year and I assume is why max temps are difficult to predict, hence why today has exceeded the forecast 24C but yesterday didn't reach the forecast 33C here (due to cloud).

Just got home from a morning's hard work with sweaty, tired and grumpy three year olds. Cooler it may be, fresher it ain't!!

It is still very muggy Meggy and there is less of a breeze today, so it still feels just as bad despite the temperature being 28.2c instead of 36c. This weather makes adults act like grumpy children too. :D Think we will be flooded out Friday night/Saturday morning when those killer thunderstorms arrive in our region. :help::oops: Went all 'Daily Express' for a minute there.

Was that it? One loud rumble, 20 seconds of large rain drops and it's stopped   :nonono:

Raise you - three rumbles and a flash!

Is that 1000km-long train of lightning flashes set to miss us all? What a bloody waste! :cray:  :cray:  :cray:  :cray:  :cray:

It missed everyone, even those on the other side of the north sea

Just a couple of scattered showers here and one or two big thunderstorms over Belgium.

A solid day overall with a high of 26C, but holding nicely into the evening.

Temperature on the rise again at 24.7, and humidity 60%. Nice evening, if rather sticky again.
