2 storms today. A fantastic one earlier, went eerily dark around lunch time and had torrential rain and t&l more or less over head.

Another is going on right now. Lightning a bit too far to the west to be exciting, but a storm is a storm.

Dami, a small storm on the way. Think it will pass over you, not me. I have heard a distant rumble.

Cloudy day in Cambridge with about an hour of moderately heavy rain around 4pm, not a very nice day.

4th of July still the only time I've observed thunder or lightning in the past year...

The fall of night killing off the storms in Belgium?

Hopefully it's just the fact that as the sun sets to the west, the clouds on the eastern side of the satellite image start to disappear. This function of the website doesn't work at night, so very soon there'll be no clouds to view!!

Aah, didn't know that, thanks!

Current UK hotspot looks to be somewhere around Bedford

I really hope the homegrown storms deliver for chosen locations tonight, because I suspect the East coast "runner" of storms that the Met Office talked about this morning is over in Belgium/Holland and won't be troubling the UK. And looking at the Meteo-France rainfall radar in combination with the Real-Time Lightning Radar, that's largely it with regard French imports.
